Hiya folks!
Today’s blog topic formulated itself as I was driving home from Goodwill in Maple Grove.
Yes, I did find some treasures, but, interestingly enough, they were not the treasures that I had in mind. I love when that happens although now I need to make another trip. This time I’ll go to Unique Thrift in Crystal.
One man’s trash is another’s treasure. For the life of me, I can’t figure out why this is attributed to men. I know more women who shop at thrift stores than men. Same goes for antiques. Maybe it’s the generic “man.”
Okay, back to today’s theme: perspective. Although, really, I wasn’t straying. (“Look there’s a bunny rabbit!”) One person’s trash being another person’s treasure is about perspective. And shopping. Okay, now I’m straying.
Perspective: I was happy that my feet were sore this afternoon. It meant that I did errands and went to two different stores. And that meant that I had enough energy and stamina to shop!!!!!
I know. It all comes back to shopping, doesn’t it?!
Perspective: my knee hurts. This is a good thing! Why? Because usually my knee AND hip hurt!! My hip not hurting means that possibly, POSSIBLY, the joint pain was caused by the Arimidex. And, if it was caused by the Arimidex, maybe, MAYBE the drug we’re substituting for it won’t make my joints (hip) hurt as much. I haven’t started the new sub drug yet, in order to let the Arimidex escape my system. (Fly little Arimidex particles, fly!)
Perspective: I have a new blossom on my petunia! This ordinarily would be a good thing, but it reminds me NOT to put a hanging plant by the grapevine again. Why? Because the grape leaves and vine swallow up and hide the flowers. This little blossom has probably been struggling all summer to peek out from behind those grape leaves. Good job, little blossom! Reminds me of a poem that I’ll share with you tomorrow.
And that reminds me of something else i wanted to share with you. It’s from Mrs. Sundberg:
“Hold on, carry on, lift up, dance.”
Of course the teacher in me wants to discuss the use of the prepositions and the meanings of the phrases. I also want to translate it into nonverbal gestures, so you could communicate the whole thing, or even just a part without speaking.
To put it into a different perspective.
Hugs to you all,
Janet
Beautiful writing. Flows like poetry.
