Hello Folks!
I don’t know about you, but I am really looking forward to some temps in the 40’s this weekend. This cold snap is for the birds.
Well, actually it is NOT for the birds who, I suspect, aren’t liking it any more than we are.
Buffy must know somehow that I’m writing about birds because she just came up for a hug. She is not a lap sitter; she is a chest sitter. And now that there isn’t as much chest to sit on anymore, she slides down unless I can hook my arm under her nether regions to prop her up. With her in the propped up position, I can’t see the keyboard to type.
I am a look at the keys typist so this presents a problem. She usually doesn’t stay long though. Just long enough to deposit hair all over the keyboard and my chest.
Maybe she was trying to apologize for flipping up the PVC pipe which caused the wet carpet in the basement.
Doubt it.
I think there is a contract that all cats have to sign which says that they must cover a certain area each day with cat hair. That makes more sense.
Well, I got the pieces of the Blue Heron successfully ironed onto the correct fabric last night. Next step? Cutting them out and not losing any of them.
Or having any of them stolen by the crackling paper chewing cat o’ mine. She likes to crunch parchment paper and fusible web which comes with paper on it. And it’s this fusible web that is on the back of the Blue Heron pieces.
Sigh.
Well, onto the title. Prunes are fantastic. They’re sweet, nutritious and keep you going. Ha!
And the Little Itty Bitty Purses? I swear by them. I’m supposed to be careful not to carry anything heavy with my right hand because of the lymphedema. My hand and arm will swell if I do. Then I would have to wrap my hand and arm during the day instead of wearing the glove and sleeve. And that is a pain and a half.
Oh, I met another person with lymphedema at the Sewing Expo. She had a more pronounced case(I have a light case) that was brought on my more mosquito bites than usual last summer. Seriously, when they take a lymph node, it can be years later that you get any symptoms. and, it can be caused by the most innocuous event. I carry bandaids, alcohol wipes, and Neosporin with me in case I get a cut on my right hand. An infection, which is normally taken care of by the lymph system, can be dangerous and not look like an infection until you have to go to the Emergency Room. So, I have to be diligent.
And purses are part of that diligence. Gone are the shoulder strap purses because I might swing it up on the affected shoulder just out of habit. So I have been using cross body purses.
When we went to Nova Scotia, I packed an itty bitty cross body purse because my heavy regular purse was not something I wanted to schlep across Cape Breton.
I had to winnow out the contents to just those I absolutely needed. I could keep a back up bag in the car with the bulky items, makeup, inhaler, bandaids, etc.
I loved the light weight and the ease with which I found things, so, when I came home I continued to carry an IB (itty bitty). Now I need to get a black one for winter. TJMaxx and Target here I come!
Happy Friday to One and All!
Hugs,
Janet
Like . . . if I said I love prunes too and I read that women who eat prunes regularly have less bone loss (something about the boron) and that prunes are especially helpful to prevent constipation . . . would you even get that message, because it’s in response to an “older” blog?
