Wow! It’s really cold outside today. In the twenties below zero windchill. Just heard that it got up to 8 degrees today.
At the hospital I stepped into the elevator with a couple also dressed in Minnesota Chic. We chuckled at our relief to be inside, still dressed in our bulky outdoor wear.
And, I asked the question, “Why is it we live here, again?”
And the husband replied, ” The people,”
And I thought, you know, he’s right! I don’t care what anybody says about passive aggressive, cold and non demonstrative Minnesotans—–and Garrison Keillor, I’m talking to you here—-there’s a kindness in this state that I love. Look for it; you’ll see it. And if you can’t see it, BE IT!
I am so excited about a class that I have signed up for! It’s a beginning quilting class offered at Quilted Treasures in Rogers. I have been wanting to take the seven week class for years now, but schedules, surgeries, and chemo got in the way. But now, I am signed up and nervous as heck.
Why am I nervous? I have got to finish my outstanding projects before January 5th.
Stop laughing, all you who know me.
I am going upstairs right now to work on some.
Or, I might take a nap.
Stay warm,
Janet
Love your observation that there’s a kindness in this state and how if you can’t SEE it, BE it. Very nice. I’m enjoying the fluffy flakes falling right now. Be warm! Seek joy and kindness!
