Hi Folks!
I hope you’re someplace warm and cozy while reading a good book, or enjoying some cuddled up nappage. It is definitely the right weather for it.
Instead of doing all of the running the house tasks that take up awake and alert time, I went right to sewing this morning. I finished my quilt class homework for next week and a small project that’s due the fifth week of class. Yay!
Now I can think about my new knitting project. My fingers are itchy. I got a book of sweater patterns that I like, but I’m not sure that I have the skill for yet. I’ll need to read the patterns over some more.
For basement knitting while I’m watching tv at night I am making a scarf out of the some bulky blue washable wool leftover from another project. It is really bulky and the needles are huge albeit short. It is good exercise for my hands, and easy to do while watching tv.
But I need a project that I can bring along with me, one that challenges me. I also like to have a project that I can do while I listen to people. It helps me sit still.

I had a scare yesterday: I thought I had caught ringworm from the little kitten. I canceled my volunteer activities for the day and headed for the clinic.
The thought that I might have to fight ringworm on me and on the little cat made me sick. I’m already stripping down to enter her room, then putting on my robe that I keep in there. Then I reverse the process for leaving her quarantine. It’s a cold process in these winter temps!
What were these spots on my face? Well, the doc didn’t think they looked like ringworm. She did give me a prescription for an ointment that CVS won’t have in until Monday afternoon. She also suggested that I use some Cetaphil facial wash.
After talking with the hubster, we had an idea what may have caused the red spots.
First of all, they were symmetrically placed on my face, and they didn’t itch, which suggested my CPAP face mask. Then I checked the mask and saw that the padding that would be touching my face in those spots had slipped, so the adhesive underneath was next to my skin.
And that is what I think caused the red spots. The adhesive.
During the summer of 2013 when I was getting chemo treatments once a week, I had a problem with the adhesive on the bandage that goes over the port to stabilize the tubing after the port has been accessed. A week was not long enough for the skin to heal from the irritation caused by that bandage. The damage was visible and bright red. So, they started using paper tape in that area and it helped.
I have also had that problem with certain bandaids right out of the box.
So, that is what we think the now pink spots on my face are: a reaction to the adhesive on the CPAP mask.
Not ringworm.
Whew.
Love you all,
Janet
