Good Monday Morning to You All!!
It looks like it may be sunny and in the upper 20’s’s today, so I say YAY! We could do worse and we have. And while we’re at it, let’s send some good thoughts to the folks in New England who are receiving another onslaught of snow today. Keep your chins up, folks! Remember, you got through the Revolutionary War; you can get through this.
I just heard that the Vermont Teddy Bear Company is offering for Valentine’s Day a Fifty Shades of Gray Teddy Bear WITH ACCESSORIES. Hmmmmm. And they’re advertising on public radio. Hmmmm… I can’t make up my mind: is it funny or crossing the line? And, is there a line anymore??! I know this for sure, I didn’t want to think about it at 8 am on a Monday morning. Now, 10 pm on a weekend would be just fine . . .
Well, I finished my quilt class homework yesterday around 5-6. Of course the last seam I had to match was a bear. When I finally had it matched, one of the seams leading up to it had come undone, so I had to rip out both two seams and re-sew.
It is fun to see it all put together.
Today in class we practice putting borders and binding on a sampler which was also homework from the first week.
*******No Transition Here***************
Katya has a new bright red collar with a bell on it so we know where she is. She sounds like a little Christmas elf running around. The red looks great on her silver gray fur. Good choice, hubster!
She’s the one who has been digging to China. We found a small corner of the carpet next to her door pulled up and chewed on. The hubster is not happy. I am not happy. Katya is not happy now because I hit the area with some Bitter Apple.
She goes in on Thursday for spaying and the declaw of her front two paws. Then in another month, she’ll go in for the back declaw. I realize that declawing is not approved of by many people and organizations. I know the arguments. Even with carefully trimmed claws the kitten can give me some bad scratches. I have to be so very careful with my right hand and arm, we decided to go ahead with it.
With the lymphedema in my right hand and arm, I have to be very careful about punctures and infections. I can’t have blood drawn or blood pressure taken on that arm. Infection can set in with atypical symptoms and then I have to go to the hospital. I keep rubbing alcohol wipes in the kitchen and in my purse along with bandaids and Neosporin.
**************None here, either**********
The lady slipper project—- the raw edge applique—— had a detour on Friday when I realized that the background fabric color was too close to the color of the top petals. I couldn’t tell the difference between the two fabrics when I was stitching around the white petal. Thanks to my teacher who gave me the idea, I’m going to try to change the color of the background with crayons. Will let you know how that works.

This is my second to the last quilt class. I will miss it and the homework. I am looking forward to more nappage, though!
Have a Mahvelous Monday!
Love,
Janet
Where do you get Bitter Apple? Does it work? Can I spray it on plants?
