Hello Friends!
The Armometer is here!!!! It’s called a Fit Bit.
Last night at the Gopher Men’s Hockey game, the hubster went over 10,000 steps during the second period. No, he wasn’t running up and down the stairs. He wasn’t doing the bugaloo with Goldy, either. Nor were we engaged in a hot and heavy for the Kiss Cam —dang it.
He was clapping along with the Minnesota Rouser as the Golden Gophers played a stand up game against the Michigan Wolverines, winning 2-0. It was an exciting game as the Michigan team tried heartily to erase the memory of the 6-2 drubbing they had received from the Gophers the night before.
The Gophers scored early in the first period and then again within 20 seconds of the end of the third period when the Wolverines pulled their goalie in an attempt to score on Wilcox. He did outstanding work protecting our goal and the team mobbed him at the end of the game, deservedly so.
But, back to the clapping. The hubster wants you to know that he had put on many steps prior to the game. The clapping just put him over the hump. And his Fit Bit vibrated the news AND sent him an email with the info.
It was a surprise to him, this armometer that counted arm movements the same as steps. Now we just have to see if it counts lifting things as steps, too.
My good friend Bean suggests that the pedometer vs the armometer has its derivation from the hunter/gatherer days when the men walked to find food (pedometer) and the women tended the herbs, children, and close to home activities.(armometer) I think she’s right on the money. She further stipulates that women give more hugs, which again would count on the armometer, but not on the pedometer. Interesting things to think about, hey?
*****************haha, you looked!*********
And speaking of cat herding, Buffy has taken to herding Katya back up the stairs when she escapes. It’s funny and I wish Buffy could talk to tell me what she’s thinking.
“Darn stinkin’ little furry thing. How did she get out again?”
Katya is back after her spay and declaw, okay but in some pain. I picked up some pain medication for her yesterday and it has helped. She seems more herself this morning.
************:-)**************
I need to measure my quilt top and sew on the side borders and then I will be ready for tomorrow’s last class. We will get our pictures taken while holding up our quilt tops and then those pics will go on the website. WooHoo!
And then after finishing the quilt top, we will go to the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra concert this afternoon at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in, where else, Bloomington. Love to go to these concerts. They play really well and it’s a chance to see my son in a tux! Win-win!
Have a Super Sunday!
Love,
Janet
