It’s Finally Happened!!!

I have hope for World Peace!!!!  My cats shared a cat bed this afternoon!!!!!!!

Hello Folks!

It’s been a long time and I’m not exactly sure why.

Wait, wait. I know why. I have been working out how to machine quilt the quilt made in class. This necessitated practicing stitching in different designs  with different thread and different presser feet on different samplers.  All that changing of thread and of presser feet takes time!!!

Well, and it’s the thinking that goes along with it.

We all know that thinking takes time.  At least my thinking does!!!

Along with the practice quilting of the samplers, I was also preparing for tomorrow’s class on machine binding.  I needed to have one sampler quilted so that I can bind it tomorrow.

I nearly have two ready. The lady slipper applique project is aaaaaaaalllllllllmmmmmmooooossssssttttttttt ready.  Depending on whether the thread gods favor me tonight with straight stitching and no birds’ nest bobbin thread surprises.

But the big news is that the two cats shared a cat bed today!!  Yep, Buffy allowed Katya to join her in her velour haven.

It was not without drama, though, as I will show you.

Here they are, Katya licking Buffy.  Buffy, being Buffy,  is putting up with it.

Notice how Buffy has now  taken charge by clamping an arm over the little cat, and not in a protective way, either.

Katya counters with a foot to Buffy’s face.

Buffy responds by putting Buffy in a headlock.  Look at that cute little face, well, nose and mouth, anyway.

And that was the end of cat time together in the same cat bed today.

I have hope that I will see more of photo one in the near future.

Oh, I thought of one more reason why I probably haven’t written.  I have been spending my afternoons napping with Katya and my evenings upstairs so she can run around. Otherwise she is relegated to her room and can’t socialize.  Negotiating the card table barricade at the top of the stairs is difficult enough as it is; carrying things just compounds the problem. The bulky and heavy laptop would be hard to manage as I move the barricade fast enough to keep the cat in and yet not fast enough to scrape the hallway walls.  You understand.

*************

Tomorrow is Read All Day day at school. I will be reading one of my favorite books, The Paper Bag Princess, by Robert Munsch.  It is the antidote to the Disney princesses that I grew up with, you know, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty; all those princesses that needed to be rescued by a guy.  The next time you are in the library, wander over to the Children’s section and find this book in the M’s.  You’ll probably find more of his books; he told his stories at a day care and many of them are published.  It’ll take you five minutes to read it.

And then you’ll know why it’s one of my favorites!  🙂

Have a Fabulous Friday!

Love,

Janet
