Hello Fellow Fellows and Fellowettes!
I am currently hiding in the basement, away from the windows which will soon provide a look at the 1-3 inches of snow coming soon. I know, I know, it’s childish, but I just don’t want to see when it starts. For that matter, I’m not too wild about seeing it in the middle or when it ends, either! I prefer my little cocoon of escape from reality.
Besides, I am doing laundry which necessitates being located near the washer and dryer. Having to truck up and down the stairs past the windows where I might see the snow would just add salt to the wound.
And the cats are sleeping peacefully — NEXT to each other! Buffy has stopped growling at poor Katya who must have been drenched with that new kitten perfume, Eau de Vet, when she had her back declaw on Thursday. Buffy must have thought that I brought home another cat, because she has been hissing and growling and snapping at poor Katya until now when I caught them sleeping together on the sofa.
Awwww. Katya has been doing her best to reassure Buffy, by licking her and by licking the smell off her feet, but I guess it just took time. Anyway, whew!
Another great whew! is that the top of the stairs now looks like this:
With the back declaw came Katya’s access to the whole house. She’s not quite sure she can go anywhere, yet. She keeps thinking she’s in trouble and runs up stairs, turns around, lies down and puts her head on her paws, looking down the stairs, as if to say, “It’s okay, Mom, I’m where I’m supposed to be.” This may take a while.

Ear muff update:
Pooh got a bath!
And wouldn’t you know it, I put the guts of the muffs somewhere safe and now I can’t find them! GRRRRRRR. Maybe I need some honey!
Two more things: we went to Unique Thrift today and found treasures. For those of you who know how much the hubster wants me to put things on the mantle in the living room, you’ll be delighted to know that I found this to put there:
Of course I have to have a contest to see which bear will sit there. HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! You should have seen the pained expression on the hubster’s face when I told him where the chair was going! In actuality, the chair, missing the lace, will go up in the guest room where the bears’ new home will be. Right now they reside in the sewing room, but with the spring cleaning changes, there is now room in and on top of the bookcase in the guest room. But it certainly was fun needling the hubster!
And lastly, doggone it, I have to stop wearing my lymphedema sleeves and gloves and go back to the finger wraps and bandages. While spring cleaning a week ago, I had my hands in water, neglecting to wear my glove and sleeve for over two hours. The extra time without the compression items and the extra work made my fingers swell. And then yesterday I was so excited to receive in the mail the new folder for the National Parks quarters that I pushed the quarters into the slots with my right hand instead of waiting for the hubster to do it for me. Dang it! Last night, my hand hurt and sure enough, the tips of my fingers were bluish. They were swollen. I wore my nighttime glove and sleeve last night and it felt better, but after going to Unique, i checked my fingertips and they were bluish again.
So, it’s back to this for awhile.
Okay, time to change laundry loads! Have a Silly Sunday!
Love,
Janet

WONDERFUL news that Katya is finally a regular member of the household. I am really looking forward to meeting her. Thanks for the picture of Buffy and Katya laying down together. Makes my heart feel all fuzzy and warm.
Now, re the wicker chair: are you sure you want to remove the lace? Will it fit on the mantle? (Chuckle)
