Greetings friends!
I just have a few thoughts to share at beginning of this weekend:
1) Haven’t the last three days been wonderfully warm and sunny? It was good to sit outside in the fresh air. I am stating this to remind myself and perhaps some of you that we did have those days, so that when it snows next week, we don’t feel so embittered.
Forewarned is forearmed, I always say. Got to stay positive.
2) The brain is an amazing thing. One of my crossword clues yesterday was ” Margie Albright portrayer. ” First of all, the brain kicked in and remembered that this was the main character in a half hour comedy called “My Little Margie.” How the heck did it remember that??? The show stopped airing in 1955 when I was 3. Had to be in syndication around the early 60’s.
(Something you need to know about me here. The lore is that I learned to walk by walking toward the tv set. That explains a whole lot!)
And then, when I couldn’t remember what the actress’s name was, even though I could see her face and hear her voice, and remember that she starred with Zasu Pitts, who just happened to be in the crossword a few days ago.(I’m working an AARP crossword, can you tell?)
Had no idea, no clue as to her name, and really wasn’t too upset about it. Thought to myself, I’ll bet my brain can come up with it, all on its own, at some point.
Sure enough, as I was waking up this morning, the name Gale Storm, floated into my head just like those answers would float into the window of the Magic Eight Ball.
HOW DOES IT DO THAT????????
I wasn’t consciously trying to remember it. I didn’t consciously task my brain with trying to remember it.
And, more importantly, why can’t I remember the stuff I want to remember, like people’s names, or if I really said that I wanted to use weed cloth on the whole garden this year??
It is a conundrum.
Have a wickedly fun weekend, folks!
Love,
Janet
