Greetings, friends!
I hope that wherever you are, you are enjoying the possibility of a great weather day. We are, here in MN. The sky is that brilliant blue that shows off the green leaves so well. There’s a slight breeze and the buzz of the circular saw drifts over all.
Well, it does in my life anyway! For those of you who don’t really know the hubster, he is a project guy. Remember the damn patio? The damn garage? The damn shed? Today’s project is the replacement of the boards in the park bench outside our front door. He’s as happy as a clam, as are our neighbors since I convinced him that he couldn’t start using power tools at 6 am on the weekends!
He bought some Brazilian wood for the project, so the park bench will be about five times heavier than it already is with the cast iron supports. And he may ruin a saw blade on it because the wood is so dense. But it will look gorgeous when it’s done.
Most importantly, he is happy working in his shop, otherwise known as our garage. I know that most people PARK THEIR CARS in their garages, but we don’t. Yep. Come rain or shine, snow or hail, our cars weather it all, sitting out in the driveway. I have been known to use the wide shop broom to get the snow off my car. yyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxc Sorry. Katya the cat wanted to type something.
And that brings me to my next subject.
++++++++hahaha an actual transition!!!*********
Buffy, our other cat, has zits. Seriously! The day after we returned from CO I noticed some big black scabby things just under her chin. I had that same sinking, queasy feeling in my stomach that I remember when the kids used to get hurt. What was that? And please, please, please don’t let it somehow be a return of the ringworm that we battled in December, January and February with Katya.
It wasn’t. Whew! The next day’s visit to the vet brought a diagnosis of acne, a prescription of antibiotics and a suggestion to swipe her chin with witch hazel. She hates the antibiotics and the witch hazel. As a result, I’ve been doing a lot of sneaking up on her with my hand behind my back lately. And to counter that, I’ve also been doing a lot of drive by hugging and petting, to counterbalance the medicinal sneak ups.
She doesn’t quite know what to make of it, but she’s sleeping a lot and that, of course, keeps her off the chandelier. I consider it a win-win.
Time to sew! Now that I finished those pesky button holes, I can finish the rest of the nightie.
Maybe. It seems that I get distracted a lot. It’s not that I have ADH——-look there’s a bunny rabbit!
Happy Father’s Day!
Love,
Janet
Do you really have a chandelier? Did your hubster create that, too? Good tip about witch hazel for your cat. Here’s another one, in case you haven’t heard it. Many years ago, I had a cat with zits on her chin and I remember feeding her pink liquid antibiotics which would drip down onto her white bib. The vet also said if the cats had plastic drinking or eating bowls to replace them with ceramic. Cats bump their chins into their bowls while eating or drinking and plastic tends to be more irritable for them. After I did away with the plastic, my little kitty had no more acne issues.
