Hello fellow humans!
Greetings from the inside of a hot and humid Saturday evening. It has been seasonably yucky like this all week, but we are heralding the approach of a cooling after tomorrow’s rains. Monday is to be upper 70’s and much drier. That’s good because I don’t think it could get any muggier now without it actually raining.
I feel sorry for Bailey.
This is Bailey. She’s visiting us for the weekend. when she ‘s outside she’s not running around like she usually does, and when she’s in the house, she splays her legs and feet at all angles on the cool tile floor in the kitchen. I can’t imagine wearing a fur coat in this weather. Personally, I have as little on as possible without getting arrested for indecent exposure. It’s a balancing act.
And as long as I am sharing pics of what’s going on around here, here’s another one:
Here are the vines are on the trellis on the damn patio!
I know! Don’t they look fabulous? To me they look like the vines slid off the trellis and pooled like water at the base. And yet here they are, defying gravity stretching tall and grabbing onto that wood like mountain climbers with pitons!
Here’s a new acquisition that has just tripped my trigger:
Yes, it’s a masking tape dispenser. You know when you bring that one purchase home that is small in the grand scheme of things, but is going to make a corner of your life easier? Well, this is one of those things. I have to wrap my nighttime sleeve in bandages every night and have to use 12-15 tape strips to secure the ends. Before I would pull off a long strip and then cut it into smaller strips while keeping it from sticking to me or itself. I would stick the strips to the edge of the coffee table and then have to protect them from the cat (Buffy, of course) who would like to chew it, rendering it unusable. And I had to have it done before I started because, well have you ever tried to use a scissors with your other hand? It takes way more concentration than I want to summon up at 11 pm! So, with this dispenser, I just pull off what I need, when I need it. WOO HOO! It’s the little things, folks.
The last pic is of the hubster who is doing an admirable imitation of Spiderman here:
Yep. And he’s doing it in the headlights from the car.
Isn’t that how you do things around your house? Doesn’t your hubster coming rushing in at daylight’s waning and ask you to back the car down the driveway and shine the headlights on his project because the work light bulb just gave out and he’s not done yet? No? Hmmmmm. Not at all unusual around here.
And last but not least, I had a recorded phone message the other day from the financial department of the hospital where I’ll be getting my knee replaced in early October. So, I returned the call when I got home. The cheerful person on the other end of the phone was confused; there was no reason for the phone call. It was an accidental phone call she said.
I was butt dialed by a computer. Hahahahaha!
And with that I’ll close. Have a safe Labor Day weekend. Stay cool!
Love,
Janet
