Winter is coming.
You know it.
I know it.
We all know it. This pile of the white stuff was on my walking trail today. Well, it was actually on my walking trail DETOUR today.
There was a construction crew taking the stone wall apart to fix the leak from the pool up the hill. Hmmm. Now that I think about it, maybe they’re just putting in some drainage. I am assuming that the water across the path is from the pool because it smells of chlorine. Well, it smells chemical. And , if the pool were found to be leaking, wouldn’t they find and fix the leak first?
Or, since it’s so late in the season, will they wait until they drain it? Hmmmm. I think the answer is somewhere under the hillside between the path and the pool. And the crew is moving those large Minnesota stones to fix the water that is spreading across the path.
Because you know, winter is coming.
So, yes, it was possible to enjoy the two Minnesota seasons of winter and road construction today during my walk at the lake. I feel like there needed to be some sort of special celebration to note the seasonal conflux.
It was a good idea that I kept my head up after I cut back to the path after passing the stone wall crew. There was a wood chipper truck backing down the path toward me! And it took up the whole path! Ahhh. They were there to take care of that poor birch that blew over in a storm a few weeks ago. Thankfully there was a staircase I could take to the upper level and I didn’t have to tromp through the coneflowers or the hydrangea.
Walking around the lake was a little more dangerous and exciting today!
****No transition here******
Here are some pictures from camping a few weeks ago.

Here are the kitty cats sleeping in the back seat. Don’t worry, they are buckled in.

Here is Katya’s tail disappearing into the tshirt cat boxes I made for the camper.

Here’s Buffy getting a head scratch from the hubster after breakfast. Love this!

And here is Katya, deciding just where she is going to pounce next.
We like taking the cats camping with us. And they enjoyed this trip more because of two reasons: the cat boxes gave them a place to hide, and we camped in the last site of the three site campground, so car tires on gravel were few and far between, as were people walking by our site. For some reason those sounds really scare the cats.
Now, if we could just do something about the vicious mosquitos on the site . . .
*****Nope. Not here either *********
Meanwhile, I have finished all 20 Phryne Fisher books, started reading JoAnne Harris books like “Chocolat”, am chuckling my way through a Carl Hiaasen book called “Bad Monkey”, and have scanned 697 photos already on my quest to digitize all our photos.
But mostly I have been enjoying the summer, because, you know, winter is coming.
Have a Fantastic Friday and Enjoy your Weekend!!!
Love,
Janet
I love the cat boxes you made. You are so clever!
