Good Afternoon Folks!
I hope you are enjoying the 20 degree high today along with the sunshine! And if you are in WI and digging out from all that snow, I am truly sorry.
Really. It could have very easily been us. We have to stick together. Solidarity in Snow and Ice!!
And speaking of the cold, when I take the garbage/recycling out to the garage in the winter, I take my keys with me.
Why? Because I do not trust my cat.
I envision her jumping up to trip the dead bolt.
Has she ever done this, you ask?
Not yet.
And I intend to be prepared when she does it the first time.
Remember, it only took once to see how much fun it was to swing from the chandelier in the dining room.
And despite the obvious danger of the whole thing loosening from the ceiling and crashing on top of her and into the table, she continues to do it whenever she feels neglected.
(and yes, I do see that as a cartoon sequence with both the cat and the chandelier outlined as a hole in the table)
I will continue to take my keys with me to the mailbox as well
because she knows how to close doors.
Be prepared, I say.

You know the old saying, “Measure twice, cut once”? Yeah. Me, too. Well, I would like to amend it to say,” Read the directions thrice, measure twice, cut once.”
I had all these 1 1/2 inch strips of fabric from which I had to trim 1/4 inch.
It was not pretty.
I may have to cross stitch that one and hang it up in the sewing room.

Happy 100th Birthday, Ernie Kovacs!!!!! If you need a chuckle, and who among us doesn’t, google him. I particularly enjoy the Nairobi Trio.

Boy howdy, it’s been a long time since I couldn’t put down a book. Of course, I couldn’t sleep last night, so I picked it back up and read until about 5 this morning. And, I am retired with nothing on the schedule, so I could sleep in and semi-recover those hours of lost sleep.
The book? The third in the Robert Galbraith series about Cormoran Strike.
J.K.Rowling writes these books as Robert Galbraith, I think to keep the books away from her adoring young Harry Potter fans. These are not kids’ books. The content is definitely adult.
Not only did I have to finish the third one, I had to start the fourth one, too. Bingeing at its finest!!!
Note: while I do still enjoy reading out of a real book, I have a Kindle Paperwhite to read in bed. The nighttime arm and hand gear for the lymphedema prohibits me from holding up a book. This is how I could get hold of the fourth Galbraith at 5 in the morning. There is something to be said for technology.
Well, I am purging and organizing the family slides. And I promised myself that the next sunny day I would use the slide viewer to go through a few carousels. I also have a tunic dress to alter before I attach the neck and armhole binding. And there’s those exercises for today… I guess I’d better get going.
Have a wonderfully wacky Wednesday! Stay warm and dry, drink some hot cocoa, and hug yourself!
Love,
Janet
