Greetings and Salutations Friends!
There is a fine odor of adhesive wafting in the upstairs rooms. YES, the bathroom mirror is finally in place, YAY! This morning’s trip was the third trip for the mirror guys, not an easy task because of its size. The hubster insisted that the mirror go all the way to the ceiling so he could finally see his head.
I know, I know, some people are so picky.
For years, thirty seven to be exact, he’s had to duck to see his face in the mirror. I guess that that’s long enough.
Anyway, I think that this finishes up the upstairs bathroom. And now onto the whole house fan; but that’s another story to be told. Stay tuned.
*****Oh look there’s a transition!*****
Speaking of the upstairs bathroom, I do need to share this story. One morning last week I slept in later than usual. As I was brushing my teeth I often look out the window at the backyard. The hubster was already in the hot tub!!!
Usually he waits til late afternoon or early evening and then he asks me if I would like to join him.
But there he is———-relaxing away———without me!
Well, this could not be allowed to pass unnoticed. I filled up a large spray bottle with cold water, took off the window screen, and opened up the window.
He could hear none of this due to the jets which were on in the hot tub, even though he faced me.
It took a few practice squirts before I had the angle right. But once I zeroed in, I had no mercy.
He never had a clue it was me. He looked up after a bit, checking out the clouds for rain.
There were no clouds.
He was further confused. He held out a hand to feel the “rain.” More confusion.
This went on for five minutes. I was laughing so hard yet had to be so quiet.
Finally, finally he looked up toward the house and saw me and I could laugh out loud.
“Ha,ha ha, Jolly Joker,” he laughed.
It was great.
*****nope********
The Oscar for Best Animated movie went to a crew from Latvia for “Flow.” It’s on Apple and it’s very good. I recommend it highly. Oh and the cat looks just like our Katya.
*****sorry*********
I took a chance this morning in the sewing room. I adjusted the tension on my machine.
I KNOW!!!!!!!
Fiddling with the tension on a sewing machine is one of the most frustrating activities in the world of fabrics. Remember the little screw on the bobbin case? Remember trying to turn it this way and then that way, trying to get those stitches right? And then trying to remember how far you turned that little screw? And in which direction? AARRRGGGHH.
Well, I had to start that process this morning because the bobbin thread was definitely laying on top of the backside of the fabric.
Judy Janome ( my sewing machine has a name, doesn’t yours?) came through with flying colors. Not only could I adjust the tension to practice quilt the batik, I return it to the previous state!!!!!!
SCORE!!!!!!
I told my eighth grade self sitting in Home Ec that things DO get better when you’re older.
**** yep. Here’s one****
And speaking of getting better, I am alway grateful when my mind gives up an answer to something that’s been bugging me. How about you? Specifically,it finally occurred to me that instead of washing my face upstairs before bed and waiting, waiting , waiting for the hot water to travel from the basement, I could wash my face in the kitchen where it doesn’t take as long to get hot water.
Well, duh.
And here’s another one. I moved the reading light so it comes over my right shoulder instead of straining to my left.
Another Well duh.
But, I will be thankful for the solution.
****nope, sorry****
I will be going to a stripology class on Friday. No, I am not learning how to be a stripper. Hahahahahaha!!!
The class is full of tips on how to use a special quilting ruler that has slits in it. It’s called the stripology ruler. I’ll report in later as to how well I learned to cut the strips. Wish me luck.

Have a wonderful week. Call someone you haven’t heard from in a while. Hug a friend. Read a good book. Listen to music that makes your heart sing.
Love,
Janet
