There Are Details and then there are details…

Hiya Folks!!
It is a tad bit cooler here this week, maybe by ten or so degrees, and what a difference that makes. The AC is off and the windows are open, I’m wearing a light sweater as opposed to being a light sweater, and my thoughts are tending towards the State Fair.
I know, I know.
We aren’t having the Great Minnesota Get Together this year due to the pandemic. We are, however, able to get our State Fair food fix thanks to the food trucks and a page on Facebook called State Fair Food Finder.
There were also a few hours one day last week when you could buy a ticket for $20 that would get your car onto the fairgrounds. From there you could get various fair foods through the drive by method. It took 2 1/2 hours for those tickets to sell out. I understand that the $20 tickets are now going for $150.
We are serious here about our State Fair Foods.

I myself am hankering for a Pronto Pup. Not a corn dog. A Pronto Pup which is made with flour instead of cornmeal.
Ahhhhhhh… with a smear of mustard.
I have not found a source for these delectable treats on a stick yet on the State Fair Food Finder, but when I do…

And speaking of a few degrees difference (yes, this is an actual, honest to God transition. Don’t get used to it.), the character Phileas Fogg fired his valet for giving him shaving water that was 94 degrees instead of the required 96 degrees. Whoa! Now that’s a man who pays attention to details!!! Phileas is the main character in “Around the World in Eighty Days” which is the current “Chapter A Day” book being read on Wisconsin Public Radio at 12:30 pm every weekday. It seems, though, that the valet he gets to replace the temperature challenged former valet is the perfect partner for Phileas. I am guessing that this new valet will be helping Phileas win his bet that he can circumnavigate the world in 80 days. We shall see. Chapter 2 will be read today.

Another way to look at details is to laugh at them.(Yes, yes, I know) This morning I put on some nice clothes (read “going out” clothes, not workout or sweaty home duds) It’s been awhile since I had worn this outfit of tank, shorts and light sweater. After wearing it for about 15 minutes, I noticed something just wasn’t right about the tank.

It was on backwards.

Well, what can you do but laugh?

FYI I did turn it around.

Then, last night I had an amazing reaction to a detail. ( Oh be quiet.) As I was getting ready for bed, my booklight FOR SOME STRANGE REASON fell off the bed where I had it wedged in.  Hmpf, I thought as I looked at it shining under the end table.

Wait a minute.

What was that hiding under the end table?

It was the small clear silicone nose piece to my CPAP.  I didn’t know it had fallen off the headpiece when I placed  it on the bed.

I would have been looking everywhere for that darn piece.

Bathroom.

Tub.

Bathroom floor.

Hallway.

Bedroom floor.

Under the bed.

In the shoe tray under the bed.

On the closet floor.

I probably would have blamed the cat for thinking it was a cat toy and batting it away.

Instead, there it was, hiding under the end table with a veritable spotlight on it.

Amazing, hunh?

I thought so, too.

Well, that’s all about the details of late. Maybe next time I’ll tell you the funny story about trying to do shirring on my sewing machine.

I have to be able to laugh about it first.

Have a terrific Tuesday.  Enjoy this glorious weather if you’re in the Midwest. Be safe if you’re in hurricane territory.

Hugs to you all!

Love,

Janet
